Dozer is one of those unforgettable Idaho rescue dogs whose story stays with you long after you meet him. His journey with the Idaho Animal Rescue Network has been filled with heartbreak, resilience, and an unwavering desire to love and be loved. If you are searching for an adoptable dog in Idaho or looking to foster a dog with a remarkable spirit, Dozer deserves your attention.
Dozer came into our care in early 2023 after suffering devastating losses. His dad was murdered, and his mom passed shortly after from what can only be described as a broken heart. Their friends stepped in to care for Dozer while we focused on finding him a safe and stable home. Even through grief, Dozer remained gentle, loyal, and eager to connect with people.
In March 2023, we believed Dozer had found his forever home with a couple in Meridian and their female husky. For a long time, the updates were positive. He settled in and continued to be his affectionate, silly, house hippo self.
Recently, we learned that the couple had a new baby and could no longer keep Dozer. It was an unexpected turn for a dog who had already endured so much loss. Our rescue stepped in immediately, as we always do for our animals.
Dozer returned to us last week. He is currently boarding with our wonderful friends at Snake River Four Paws while we search for the loving, stable, lifetime home he truly deserves. Through everything he has faced, Dozer continues to show resilience, good manners, and a huge heart.
